Determine the critical MVP features needed for a fintech platform targeting the 20's and 30's demographic
Challenge
The fintech sector is a very crowded niche. New financial technology platforms are popping up all the time. There are also constant closures and acquisitions. Constant changes and some negative media coverage has caused consumers to become weary of trying out new fintech platforms.
The goal for this UX project was to create a memorable brand design identity and deliver UI Designs of the needed user flows for the MVP (minimum viable product).
*Note: Due to NDA, I'm not able to share the actual company designs. The provided designs are ones created to mimic the necessary user flows for the product launch.
Tasks
The massive rise in travel in the last two decades has given rise to several competitors in the fintech space that focus on banking with budgeting features, currency conversion, and the ability to store cash in multiple currencies. Despite taking regular yearly trips abroad, many consumers still do not know about how to best avoid foreign transaction fees and getting local currency.

Creating the brand design
We wanted the app to give feelings of optimism, hope, and growth. While many fintech brands use blue to showcase trustworthiness and welcoming, we wanted to do something different. We decided to go with a mixture of green and light blue. It captures the brand feeling we want ours to have: growth, hope, optimism, and a subtle feeling of futurism.



Results
The finished product features a clean, clutter-free interface, making it easier for users to navigate and access essential features. From interviews during the beta release, several users commented on how easy it was to accomplish the main tasks of doing currency conversions, adding funds, and doing money transfers.
Overall, the new user experience lead to enhanced user engagement and satisfaction.
